You'll recognise Callum as the piper from our sell out performances at Big Penny Social. We lead Burns Night ceilidhs there each January!
If you'd like to hire him, just get in touch on our normal contact details below.
My name is Callum Hall and I am a piper originally from rural Scotland and now living in London. Inspired by seeing the Red Hot Chilli Pipers live, I have been playing pipes, as a soloist and bands, since I was eight years old. Since then, my pipes have taken me the length and breadth of the UK and further afield including France, Belgium, and the east and west coasts of the United States.
Over the years, I have been lucky enough to be invited to play at some incredible, famous, and, in some cases, quite bizarre events, all of which have been very memorable and thoroughly enjoyable in their own way. Some highlights from over the years include performing for a month in front of 9000 and a TV audience of millions at the world famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, playing with the London Scottish Pipes and Drums at the Cenotaph in London for Armistice Day, and playing in front of 20,000 at Tynecastle Park for Heart of Midlothian FC's Remembrance commemorations.
Other special moments include playing to welcome a group of orphaned Ukrainian refugees to their new home in Scotland and some slightly stranger ones including playing for Japanese national television and playing on the back of a tractor trailer being towed through a village! I have played at likely hundreds of smaller (but no less important!) events like weddings, funerals, Burns Suppers, community gala days, ceilidhs, highland games, agricultural shows, corporate events, birthday parties, leaving dos… the list goes on and on! I'm really looking forward to adding another year of Burns Night Ceilidh extravaganzas with the Sassenachs at Big Penny Social next January to that list!
Besides piping, I love football and am a long-suffering Heart of Midlothian and Scotland supporter. I am also a big fan of going to gigs, travelling, and walking up hills.
